Welcome to Arewa Rents (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
Arewa Rents is an online property marketplace that connects property owners, agents, and seekers for rentals, sales, and short-let properties across Northern Nigeria.
By accessing or using www.arewarents.com, creating an account, or listing/searching for properties, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
- Definitions
- User: Any person who accesses or uses the platform.
- Property Owner / Agent: A user who lists properties on Arewa Rents.
- Property Seeker: A user searching for properties.
- Listing: Any property information posted on the platform.
- Platform: Arewa Rents website and related services.
- Eligibility
To use Arewa Rents, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Nigerian law
- Nature of the Platform
- Arewa Rents is only a marketplace and technology platform
- We do not own, sell, rent, lease, or manage properties
- We act as an intermediary between users
All transactions, inspections, payments, and agreements are strictly between users.
- User Accounts
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Keep your login details confidential
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or misuse the platform.
- Property Listings
Property owners and agents agree that:
- Listings must be accurate, lawful, and up-to-date
- Prices, images, and descriptions must not be misleading
- You have the legal right or authority to advertise the property
Arewa Rents does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or legality of any listing.
- Fees and Charges
- Some services on Arewa Rents may be free, while others may attract fees
- Any applicable fees will be clearly communicated before use
- Arewa Rents is not responsible for payments made outside the platform
- Inspections, Payments & Transactions
- Users are advised to inspect properties physically
- Do not make payments without proper verification
- All agreements, deposits, rents, or purchases are made at users’ own risk
Arewa Rents shall not be liable for fraud, disputes, or losses arising from user transactions.
- Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Post false, duplicate, or misleading listings
- Use the platform for fraud or illegal activities
- Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users
- Scrape, copy, or misuse platform data
Violation may result in account termination and legal action.
- Intellectual Property
All content on Arewa Rents (logo, design, text, software) belongs to Arewa Rents or its licensors and is protected under Nigerian intellectual property laws.
You may not copy or reproduce content without written permission.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- Arewa Rents shall not be liable for:
- Property disputes
- Financial losses
- Fraudulent listings
- Damages arising from use of the platform
Use of the platform is entirely at your own risk.
- Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Arewa Rents harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your listings
- Your violation of these Terms
- Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the platform:
- Without notice
- For violation of these Terms
- For activities harmful to users or the platform
- Privacy
Your use of Arewa Rents is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data in line with Nigerian data protection laws (NDPR).
- Amendments
We may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
- Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
